We spent a week in a cabin in a state park in the thousand islands. It was hot! We had a great time. Some friends were in cabin 6 & also another family with us on our site- you could pitch tents and have as many people as you wanted at your cabin-as long as you only had 2 cars! That's all they cared about.

Drive in pics

Well, they didn't actually watch the movie from the well in the back of the Odyssey, it was a good place to stash them all because of all the cars going by because it was unbelievably packed. And they had a blast!

Sky zone

Well, twice last week we wound up going where everyone else was! Thursday we went to sky zone because it was a rainy day and we were meeting up with friends. So that was highly crowded.

And Friday we went to the drive-in. Which was super finally took a neighbor and we went with other neighbors. But we didn't realize it was the first night for the movie minions. And the other movie was inside out. We had a great time! Despite barely being able to see the screen and being parked in the roadway. And we got home at 1:30! It was a late night. But everything we've heard and read about inside out was true. It is a great movie! We need to see it again or buy it. There's a birthday idea if anyone is interested… Although it might not be out by August I suppose.

Rafting

This is me, Dan & Claudia (best friend from high school).

Washington DC

We expected to spend a short time moseying around to show Kat the monuments that she'd already learned about. Traffic was awful. Weather was awful. Parking was terrible. Kat pitched a fit.

We finally found a spot and put on our new (we hit REI) rain gear and headed out. She was still carrying on when we were checking out the White House. but, once she saw how much water there was, the rivers running down the streets, the enormous puddles, she moved on. We got drenched. Repeatedly. And had a blast! We (wearing my sandals, I was all over it too) did some serious puddle jumping. We watched a river run down the Washington monument. I tried to explain to Kat about war. Good wars vs bad wars....

Anyway we really did have a blast playing in the rain and visiting some of our nation's greatest monuments.

Catching

Not a lot happens in this vid, but you can see her great catching form. She got hit in the foot, fingers, I think both shoulders. But she was a trooper and roughed it out. And, more importantly, bedtime didn't go on and on with her litany of injuries/complaints!! She went peacefully.

Medals from competition!

Her last competition was last weekend. She took 3rd in figures and her group competition took 1st out of 3. Medals-not ribbons for 1-3rd places!!!

Girl Scout encampment

Kat's first overnight at girl scout camp. We pick her up in an hour. Despite being very sad that she would miss us all, I'm confident that she had a blast!!
