Buffalo people...

Oh yeah- when gathering for the ghost walk last night, both Dan & Kat we're wearing Buffalo shirts. And a guy came over to see if we were from Buffalo, as he's from east Aurora. And while he's talking, I'm looking at him closely...and asked if his name was Sean? He & I had worked together in a 4 person office in Clarence nearly 25 years ago!!

Lexie would have loved it!!

Journal entry Two

We got to St. Louis I. The midst of another terrific storm. Then we roamed around, found a place to eat and wait out the next monsoon-like thunderstorm (Caleco's, near the ballpark). Then went to the cardinals/Cleveland game, after an 1.5 rain delay. And it was worth waiting out...we were only there five innings and saw 3 homeruns and a s ore of 9-2! At least it was t a boring game. We, along with most other fans left at that time. And then we took a pedicab back to the hotel! That was different and we tipped the young lady well, as she worked hard! The next day we roamed around a bit, had breakfast on the steps of the arch watching the mighty Mississippi. (I dropped my phone a few more times, so please excuse typos-it's really a challenge to see some portions of my screen now!)

Then we rolled down the hill. Hopefully that video will come through.

We topped off our St. Louis visit with a trip to Ted Drew's ice cream place- rates the best in the world. We did declare that it was excellent ice cream that was quite possibly the best we'd ever had. So I definitely recommend it if you're in the area!

Our rambling post Junior Olympic vacation!

Hello all!

Journal entry One:

It's been a looong time. But I thought I should document this vaca (else I might forget!).

So, Kat's team finished 15/34 at the Junior Olympics (aka Nationals-as everyone there had to qualify in their zone to get there). They did great and were very proud of their accomplishments.  As they should be!

The video of Kat's 12 U Team routine is posted on Take it Live. They are 10 out of 33 in their queue.  I think this link goes directly to the Wizard of Ahhhs.

We left Oxford, OH (Miami of Ohio university) Tuesday Morning.  Most folks headed for home, but we were loaded to begin a nearly 2 week vaca. We headed to St. Louis and a new state for Kat & I.

Of course, we had the sleeping bags/tent in the car top carrier and got pummeled by rain not once but twice on the way to Oxford. Luckily I had bagged most everything AND we had a townhouse and a dryer to spread out & dry our stuff in for 4 days.  When we left there, everything went in the car. It's getting rather crowded in here.

We decided we had to see 2:30 minutes of totality, so we headed for Kentucky. It was AMAZING!!!

November 30th...

It's the last 4 hours of November. And it's 55 degrees out, the flowers are still plugging away. And a thunderstorm is scaring poor Roxy (who was sure that summer-like weather was behind us...).

It is supposed to drop back to highs in the 40s for the rest of the week. But man.... I don't see how anyone can question global warming any longer....

November 6th!!!

It's 53 degrees in the shade. Not even a crisp fall day, but more like a late September fall day. And most f my randomly planted summer flowers are still kicking!!!

Dan's out front reading in the sun. Kat will be playing in piles of leaves shortly. Another amazingly warm fall day. I refuse to put my swing away yet... tomorrow is supposed to be 60!!!

Sailing camp

This is fantastic & not what I was expecting from sailing camp! These 2 eight year olds were out there in the (unsinkable) boat for maybe 2 hrs. By themselves! In the Lake. Where it was pretty rough! They struggled sometimes & the counsellors in the zodiac would come over and advise them and get them moving In the right direction. I think they were almost to Canada once!!

Bath day!

Well, a beautiful day and I figured I'd give the dogs their annual bath... This picture of Roxy is AFTER the bath!!!! Which, of course, led to another bath immediately, and stating tied up while drying!!!

Florida!

Who's sorry now?

I suspected that the daffodils would regret their hurry to spring. The poor dejected things look like they indeed do have some regrets.

Skiing in Vermont!

We spent 3 days skiing. Kat did lessons the first two and today we all skied together. She did great at maintaining control on the ice and keeping an eye out for the vast crowds who were flying down the trails we were on.

We skied from the peak to the creek (I'm sure there's a creek at the bottom somewhere....).

And a random shot of the cats on the kitchen counter (where else would they be?).

Spring is here?

Well, it certainly seems like it could be... This is what I saw in the back yard today. It was 55 degrees out there!

The lilac bush is ready to go...
