Well, it's been HOT here. Unusually hot for late May and early June in Seattle. Today was high 80s, and we have a heat advisory thru (presumably) late Thursday, when they're calling for 90. We don't have the humidity of the east, my thermometer says 41%, but it's been hot
nonetheless.
Tonight was our UB Alumni, Seattle chapter, annual Mariner's game. It was a fabulous night for baseball- stayed in shorts/short sleeves the whole time. And the Ms kept it tied till the bottom of the 9, when they had a base hit (Ichiro, I think), then they walked the next TWO batters, with one out, loading up the bases. And then Beltre took three balls, then 2 strikes, a few fouls and then he hit one out of the infield, driving in the winning run. It was very exciting and Kat had fun eating and cheering.
I am trying not to teach Kat that when it's this hot, the best thing to do is stay in the shade and eat ice cream..... Luckily the closest store has the really good stuff on sale. And since I'm recovering from my surgery of last Friday, and not supposed to lift more than 10lbs (Kat is many more than 10lbs), we've just been laying low around the house when Dan's been at work.
We head to BUF on 6/12 and are looking forward to seeing everyone. We'll also be attending my family reunion down at the Vikings the following weekend.
Before the game tonight.
This just may be a new fave......
Down the slide in a wet suit. She went much faster than I expected.
